Vienna won the title of the most livable city in the world in the most recent Global Liveability Index 2018 released by The Economist Intelligence Unit . When rating global cities ’ liveability , the survey considers safety , healthcare , educational resources , infrastructure , stability , and the environment . Prior to the 2018 report , the capital city has consistently ranked in second position .
