RANSFORMER

HEWLETT PACKARD ENTERPRISE has built an internal agentic AI platform named Alfred, developed with Deloitte, to modernise its finance function. The tool was piloted on the company’ s weekly business review, a process that once consumed a full week of manual data-pulling and slide-building. Alfred has removed around 90 % of that manual effort, according to the company. HPE is now extending Alfred into forecasting and accounts receivable processing, the next phase of its finance transformation. Marie Myers, Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, Hewlett Packard Enterprise, says:“ Data quality and governance are probably the biggest inhibitors to getting started.” The comment reflects a wider lesson for finance leaders adopting AI-driven cash tools: the model is only as reliable as the data feeding it. HPE addressed this by centralising its data inputs into a single FP & A function before automating on top of it, rather than layering AI onto fragmented workflows.
