ALREADY A YEAR into his second term, US President Donald Trump has imposed several radical measures on finances and the US economy, including tax cuts of US $ 50,000 per year for the richest 1 % of Americans, the gutting of government programmes like foreign aid initiative USAID and perhaps the most publicised of financial moves, tariffs. Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney is under political pressure to fight back against the proposed tariffs and has since agreed to intensify talks with President Trump to reach a fair agreement.
