The Great Room
THE GREAT ROOM is my most reliable working recommendation. I like the Centennial Tower location because it is polished without feeling soulless. The light is good, the coffee is good, people are there to work and the whole place seems designed for grown-ups with actual things to do. That sounds basic, but it is surprisingly rare. A good workspace should make it easier to focus. It should not feel like someone designed it for a pitch deck and forgot about the people using it.
For meetings that need to feel less corporate, TIONG BAHRU is a good option. Independent cafés let you sit with someone and talk without the stiffness that sometimes comes with hotel lobbies. I have always found that the right setting changes the tone of a meeting. In Singapore, that can make a real difference. THE CRANE is also worth knowing if you are staying longer than a few days. It is slightly off the usual circuit, which I like. Sometimes you need to step out of the central business rhythm to think more clearly.
