LEADERSHIP & STRATEGY
CREDIT: ELECTROLUX
What are your top priorities to strengthen competitiveness at Electrolux? Good products are defined by consumers; it is important to have consistency in brand positioning and product offering. Electrolux Group has been in people’ s homes for over 100 years; our products are part of their day-to-day life, and our goal is to continue to keep making them better. This is the promise we make to our consumers. Chief Product Officer is an amazing role to be in as I get to listen to the pain points of consumers, discover ways to solve them with our R & D engineers and bring existing and new products to consumers’ homes.
How have your past experiences changed the way you lead innovation? One thing I have learnt is the power of aligning product strategy closely with go-to- market and brand strategy. More is not more in product strategy; consumers tend to lean towards certain brands to solve different pain points or gain different levels of satisfaction. It is crucial to know what product attributes we want to win in and which ones are okay to be on par with the competitors. Simply throwing technology at consumers won’ t yield a competitive edge. True market leadership comes from deploying the right technology to solve specific pain points – aligning key product capabilities directly with your brand positioning.
