Title: Chief Executive Officer Company: NVIDIA Industry: Semiconductors

The leather jacket has outlasted every doubter. Jensen Huang co-founded NVIDIA at a Denny’ s in 1993, steered it through near-death twice and now runs the company the entire AI economy is built on, one worth more than the GDP of most G20 nations. August’ s results were barely believable, US $ 96.2bn of revenue in a single quarter with data centre sales more than doubling, and his declaration that“ compute is revenue” doubled as a mission statement for the age. The Taiwan-born engineer who once washed dishes at the restaurant where he later founded his company still signs fans’ GPUs like a rock star, forecasts 70 % growth with a straight face and answers hard questions from the buffet queue at trade shows. Betting against him remains the most expensive habit in markets.
