And 1Roof, the new Geneva-based HQ building of Swiss private bankers Lombard Odier more than lives up to the legacy of its creators, architects Herzog & de Meuron. More luxury hotel than bank building, 1Roof is designed to enhance the quality of life of employees and clients. Nestled in green parkland, its open and spacious design encourages collaboration and a connection with nature. Sustainability is prioritised, too. 1Roof targets globally recognised sustainable building certifications, uses the waters of Lake Geneva for renewable temperature regulation and is powered by 100 % renewable energy. It’ s not bad to look at, either.
