THE BRIEFING | ITINERARY
REST
I LIVE AND WORK IN THE CITY so don’ t use hotels, but my advice is to avoid the tourist traps. Barcelona is compact, so you don’ t have to be in the centre to be in the action. The North Side has some great places. It’ s an area that’ s refined, architectural and central without the chaos of the city centre – check it out if you’ re looking for a more local, laid back and high-end vibe. Sir Victor in Eixample is a good choice. Nestled just off Passeig de Gràcia, Barcelona’ s grand, humming shopping boulevard, and a few doors down from Gaudí masterpieces, it hosts 91 rooms, a spa, rooftop pool and private members’ club. While it might feel more like a private home than a hotel, The Barcelona EDITION, blends the classic architecture of the city with a modern, luxury approach. It even has custom furniture by Dali and Gaudi. Our headquarters is in the Poblenou neighbourhood, the city’ s cool industrial heart. It’ s near the sea, less crowded and home to a growing scene of bars and tech hubs. The Social Hub is in the heart of Poblenou. It’ s bold, modern and also a great place for meetings and productive long stays. Barcelona has a deeply rooted apartment culture, with the vast majority of residents living in flats rather than houses. Renting apartments when you’ re staying is a great way of skipping the hotel lobby and, instead, finding yourself a high-end, hypercomfortable local place that lets you actually live in the city rather than just visit it.
