WE RECENTLY held our company retreat, housing everyone at the Ace Hotel New York, a historic boutique hotel in a turn-of-thecentury building. It has a great atmosphere and a good central location in the city’ s NoMad neighbourhood, a cultural hub. We had a great conference room in the basement, which was a nice touch. The rooms are small, but there are great views, with some of our team overlooking the Empire State Building.
A best friend of mine loves the Soho Grand, located in the heart of Manhattan’ s most iconic neighbourhood and just steps away from world-renowned art galleries, boutiques and restaurants. A tip: there’ s a great concierge who often upgrades her as a thanks for her loyalty.
In Midtown you’ ll find new and old, including the relatively new luxury five-star Baccarat Hotel and older iconic establishments like The Plaza. If you’ re mostly in Midtown for work, this is what I’ d recommend – it’ s only a quick walk to the wonderful Central Park, a great way to start the day before the madness of New York.
